I thought it was a software problem and I update the 4.3 to the latest 4.5, but the problem persists. The phone was bought some time ago on a business contract from vodafone, but after 2 years the contract was terminated and I thought that maybe(even though the contract was terminated legally) they IMEI blocked it or reported as stolen. The phone is not blocked. It is locked on vodafone, though. I tried a few SIM’s, even a new pre-paid SIM. It does the same.

I have a Blackberry 9500(unlocked) with an active BIS service provided by a lousy carrier in Romania named Cosmote. I have encountered many problems with this service regarding service books, e-mails setup, etc. My latest problem concerns the APN settings for this carrier. I have searched all the places i could think of on the internet for the correct APN settings but i was unable to find my carrier in any of the lists. I called the customer support department and they told me that there are no such settings for the BIS service. How is this possible when many important aplications require the corect APN to connect(Ex:Youtube, Facebook, Irc, etc).I have entered all sorts of Access Point Names and have gotten all sorts of errors From “Apn not specified” to “error opening tunel”, “Unable to resolve”, etc. The event log gives me an error called “net.rim.dns error”(i will elaborate, post the log if needed) besides others(DNS, TNS, MDS, all sorts of errors i don’t understand). I know that most aplications connect through the “blackberry.net” APN, but what about all other third party apps? I wrote to RIM and they told me to contact the carrier or post on the help forum which i did and i got no answer, so they suck too. Right now i am desperate i don’t know what else to try and so i require your help. I saw that there are many romanians on this forum and i am hoping that one of them might have a solution for my problem. I red somewhere that some carriers don’t support apn settings, and somewhereelse that i must change the whole JVM code that blackberry uses to connect to a socket, http, TCP/IP. I don’t know what to belive anymore, please help me out.:confused:

I just updated my firmware to the latest 719 last week. After resending the service books to get my email back up and running I thought everything was running fine, but have since noticed a small glitch.

Whenever I reboot my phone whether it be the occasional battery pull or the 3 finger reset, I have an issue when I hit the bberry button after it restarts. The screen just goes blank with none of the app icons on it at all. If I hit exit and go back to the homescreen and hit the bberry button again everything shows up like normal. It is only the first time after a reboot though. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling themes to no avail…anyone have thoughts?

I did a BBSAK wipe and did the process again using DM and installed the 7.1 and the track pad worked perfect but the phone would reboot on its own, so I did a wipe again and installed the 7.1 using the DM and from that time I have flashed the device god know how many times but the trackpad just wont work.

I really need help here, I have tried all the resources on this forum to find what I can but I seem to run out of results now.

Can someone please help me guide in the right direction ??

i got a torch 9810 a few months ago and i got a 6gig plan with it so when im @ the cottage in the summer the wife can watch movies and such and i no well have enough data. i also like to stream radio on it.

i have had the “cell manager” app on the phone and its done a fine job monitoring my usage. just the other day i decided to learn to tether on my home computer and i realize the app is not tracking the tethering. i have since tried another usage monitoring app and it too wont track usage.

i have done everything the “official” way as per what the BB site says. i have a 6gig plan and free tethering so i figured id just do it all the “proper” way. i have no 3rd party apps to assist me in tethering.

i am aware that BB desktop tracks usage but it only does it evey time you connect (i think) and i dont want to be bothered adding it all up every month, and if i use it on different computers, its going to make it more complicated.

long story short. i want a tether tracking app.

any suggestions? do they exist?
