Hi mate
not sure if u r still facing that power issue on yr E71 or got it fixed?
I have ongoing seeing a eerie issue on my E71 where the moment you press power button, it reboots the phone, not charitable me enough time to choose my options like, reset, profile change, etc.
i was looking on the ebay to find replacement power button cos that looks to be my issue what i can gather right now. Even if, while i was looking for it, i saw an option where you can also change the complete the power unit and thats not too costly at all, just like AUD $1.10 including postage. I thought, may be thats what you may try using that.
BTW, have you tried swapping the battery, may be just borrowing it from some supporter and test it.
